The GISD has announced that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has approved the request for Travis Sixth Grade Center to become Travis Intermediate.
This means, starting this fall (2023-24 school year), all GISD fifth and sixth graders will be attending Travis Intermediate (3201 Stanford St.). The realignment will open needed classroom space at the elementary campuses.
The parents of current K-3 Travis students will receive letters soon letting them know which elementary campus (Bowie, Carver, Crockett or Lamar) their children will be attending next year based on the home address.
Transportation information will be sent out after registration, which begins July 17.
