The Cumby Collegiate High School Class of 2023 Salutatorian is Erin Morgan and the Valedictorian is Shelby Saragosa.
Shelby Saragosa is the daughter of Stephanie and Mike Cota and Ruben and Ashleigh Saragosa. She will be graduating with a 4.3 GPA, and will attend Texas A&M University Commerce in the fall where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership. She will take advantage of Cumby Collegiate’s 13/14th year opportunity, so while she is earning her bachelor’s degree at the expense of the district, she will also be serving as a paraprofessional on our Early Childhood Campus. Shelby will earn her Associate’s degree in Education in May from Paris Junior College, and is a member and officer of Texas Association of Future Educators, National Honor Society, and Beta. Outside of school, Shelby is an avid dancer and loves to read.
Erin Morgan is the daughter of proud parents, Mike and Angela Morgan. She will be graduating with a 4.19 GPA, and will attend Texas A&M Commerce in the fall where she will pursue a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, then get her doctorate in physical therapy to become a physical therapist. She finished her Associates degree in Kinesiology from Paris Junior College, almost a full year early, and has spent her senior year playing volleyball and softball. She was awarded a THSCA and TGCA Academic All State selection, and is president of the National Honor Society and the Senior Class. In her free time, she loves to be outside and spend time with her family.
