Hunt County Sheriff Deputies Arrest Two Drivers that Were Randomly Shooting from Their Vehicles

On the morning of May 21, 2023, Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies responded to calls of a person shooting a gun out the window of a grey Dodge Charger or Challenger in Campbell, Texas.

Before Deputies could arrive to the scene in Campbell, Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputies and Cumby Police attempted to stop a different Dodge Charger.  The driver was shooting a gun out the window in Cumby. That driver lead Hopkins County Deputies and Cumby Police on a pursuit into Rains County.

Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies were heading to intercept the pursuit as the vehicle was initially thought to be the one from Campbell. As the pursuit proceeded south on FM275, Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies in Campbell were able to obtain a name and cell phone number of the suspect in Campbell.

The Charger being pursued came to a stop and Hopkins County advised their suspect was not the one identified in Campbell.

Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputies identified the driver of the Chager as Ethan Coble and placed him into custody. Coble is being held in the Hopkins County Jail on a charge of Evading Arrest or Detention.

Coble was not part of the Campbell incident. It is not known at this time why Coble ran from law enforcement.

Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies were able to track the cell phone of the original suspect to the Quick Trip in Greenville.

Additional Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies along with Greenville Police Officers were able to locate the grey Dodge Challenger and its driver at the Quick Trip, and placed the suspect into custody without incident.

The driver of that Dodge Challenger was Alexander Grant Stevens, who has a Campbell address Stevens was transported to the Hunt County Detention Center and is being held on five counts of deadly conduct/discharging a firearm.

Multiple houses and vehicles had gun shot damage. Stevens motive for shooting at houses and vehicles is not known at this time.

There were no injures reported in relation to the shooting.
