On May 19, 2023, Hunt Regional Healthcare held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new state-of-the-art medical center located one-half mile east of FM 2642 on IH 30 in the western portion of Hunt County. Phase one of this project will encompass approximately 65,000 square feet over two stories and include a comprehensive emergency room with twelve beds, inpatient care with five beds, twelve physician clinic offices, digital imaging, pharmacy, ambulance bay, and community room. Future plans for phase two include a significant increase in inpatient beds and a surgical center.
“We are thrilled about the growth in Royse City and our ability to provide services that were previously not available, such as increased access to primary care, access to specialists, a comprehensive emergency department and beds for patients who might need extended care. In addition, we will have a community room for group meetings and will provide student training. This is part of our effort to become a leading regional healthcare system,” stated Hunt Regional Healthcare CEO Lee Boles.
Representatives from the State of Texas, City of Royse City, Royse City Independent School District, Hunt Memorial Hospital District Board, the community and press were on hand to celebrate this occasion.
This medical facility project partners Hunt Regional Healthcare with developer Nexcore, builder Hill & Wilkinson, and architect Page Southerland Page, Inc. Construction will begin in early summer 2023 with projected completion in approximately eighteen months.
